ADVANTAGES OF THE DESIGN AND OPERATION OF ASYNCHRONOUS MOTORS

Abstract

This article provides information about the design and advantages of asynchronous motors. The asynchronous motor is the most widely used of all types of electric motors. Specially designed motors based on the asynchronous motor are characterized by technical parameters that affect their performance characteristics and adapt them to various requirements and purposes. The main consumers of world electricity (more than 60% - 65%) are electromechanical systems - electric drives operating in various industrial, transport and household mechanisms and units. The most important advantage of the asynchronous motor is that its design is very simple. Compared to synchronous motors, the asynchronous motor has no brushes and therefore requires minimal maintenance. In an asynchronous motor, as in a synchronous motor, there is no physical contact between the parts. Therefore, they are very durable and not subject to wear. In addition, such motors are manufactured cheaper than synchronous motors.
