ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION WORK AFFECTING THE RELIABILITY OF MINERAL DEPOSIT RESERVE ESTIMATION
Abstract
The authors of the article examined some features of the geological exploration process, which are reduced to the allocation of a certain part of the studied area that meets economic requirements, i.e., when developing the object, it yields expected profit. Attention was also drawn to some fundamental aspects that form the basis for calculating parameters when calculating mineral resource reserves - the average content of useful and harmful components, i.e., the reliability of the sampling process and, furthermore, the reliability of the exploration itself, conducted in strict dependence on the tasks of a specific stage.
The reliability of calculating mineral reserves is ensured by geological justification (block model, layout scheme, structural and forecast maps, etc.), using methods of sections, blocks, triangles and polygons. The quality of the data is guaranteed by the strict classification of MD reserves into categories B, C1+C2, depending on the degree of geological and economic knowledge.
