STUDY OF THERMODYNAMIC ASPECTS OF ABSORPTION OF TOXIC GASES IN THE ATMOSPHERE OF COPPER Smelting Plant
Abstract
The article examines the problems of disposal of industrial gases containing sulfur dioxide, which are produced during the production of non-ferrous metals such as copper and zinc. In this case, the method of absorption in lime suspension was proposed for the complete tilization of industrial gases containing sulfur dioxide, and the kinetics and thermodynamic possibilities of the process were studied. The result of thermodynamic calculations showed that among the chemical reactions that flow in the gas and solution system, the reaction of sulfuric acid with calcium carbonate is the slowest (limiting) step for the overall process, and 60 oC is the optimal temperature for the process. installed.
