Abstract

The problem of combating icing of power line wires is quite acute all over the world, especially relevant in regions with high humidity and low temperatures, since high humidity, wind, and sudden changes in air temperature contribute to intense ice formation on overhead line wires with corresponding undesirable consequences in the form of breaks wires, cables, destruction of fittings, insulators and even supports of air lines. This leads to significant economic losses. Therefore, all over the world, a number of companies and organizations are actively researching and developing methods to combat icing of power lines.
